Selby Tart
1/4 lb Butter
1/4 lb Sugar
1 egg
7 ozs Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
Jam or other filling. Can be used with Christmas Mince Meat mixture.
Cream butter & sugar; add other ingredients. Work into a ball (add enough flour to get this soft, but firm). Line an ovenware dish or pan with half of mixture. Put jam or Christmas Mince Meat into centre. Cover top with other half of mixture. (Small pieces at a time works best or grated).
Bake +- 190°C, gas No. 5 or 375°F until brownish & ready - 20-30 minutes.
